"Show Calendars" option missing

I have a strange problem. In my calendar I have an option "Show Calendars" that allows me to overlay calendars.

In another persons calendar, the option is missing.

We are both using the same version of Lotus Notes (8.5 with FP1) and both databases have been upgraded from 6.5 to mail85.ntf

If I open the other persons database on my computer, it does not show the option. If I open my database on the other persons computer, it does show the option. so my guess is that it's in the database design.

However... both databases have the same design (StdR85Mail v 8.5 10/30/2008). I've even tried replacing the design of the other persons mailbox using the template on my computer, but the problem remains the same.

Does anyone have a clue of why that is? As the help files refer to that option on several places, I can only assume that it should normally be there, but it isn't.
